As part of our mission to provide a lifelong learning experience, and continuously improve our alumni value proposition, I would like to invite you to our first session of the series “Alumni’s Journey to the Boardroom” to be held on Saturday,10 June, 9am – 12:30pm at HKUST Central Campus, Hong Kong Club Building.
“Presenting to Boards” is a onetime opportunity for those senior executives who are required to report to a board, or for those aspiring to be a board director.
In the session, Andrew Macintosh will cover the following points:
What boards focus on
Financials: a sample board pack
Risks: mitigants and quality
Strategy: what is left out
Effective board presentations: short, aligned, answering questions
Building a business case: financials, risks, strategic alignment
Delivering an incident report: what happened, optics & media, fallout
Approving an M&A transaction: strategic reasoning, analyst community, pro-forma financials
Case study: preparing a board presentation
Getting to “no objection”: how boards decide; building consensus
Board politics
Identifying roles, players, and factions
Developing consensus
Rubber stamping vs discussions vs decisions
Fees for the session are – HKD $600 and include lunch and refreshments.
