MBA Seminar – Global Macroeconomics

 

A full-day MBA seminar on current global macroeconomics issues will be held on Apr 2. This seminar,  the last session of the MBA elective ECON 5400 Money and Macroeconomics by Prof. Milind Rao, will cover many of the important issues in the global economy today. MBA students from the course will systematically present and discuss the various aspects of the global economy. Prof. Rao will NOT be lecturing.


Presentations Rundown
The presentations will begin at 0900 and will continue until 1800 withone-hour break for lunch at 1300. One hour (including Q&A) will be allotted to each of the discussion topics below. Participants are encouraged to participate in the Q&A discussions.

 

  •          Should the Fed raise interest rates?
  •          Will there be another Debt crisis in the US?
  •          Should the RMB devalue?
  •          Will China experience a ‘1990s Japanese style’ crisis?
  •          Will there be another financial crisis in HK?
  •          Should Greece leave the EMU?
  •          Is France a ‘PIIGS’ country?
  •          Is there a global savings glut?
