MBAAA Happy Hour and Gin Tasting @ Angel's Share

Please join your fellow MBA Alumni for a night of networking and an introduction to Gin. We are delighted to be led by expert bartender Amanda Wan (see bio below) to learn about the tastes and uses of Gin. Gin, which primarily gets its flavor from juniper berries, is a classic and most used spirit in mixology.
The event includes a flight of four different Gin’s, assorted tonics and a selection of canapes.

Amanda Wan
Amanda Wan started out as a barista in 2005 and has never looked back since. After a brief stint exploring wines as well, Amanda continued working as a bartender through higher education, and completed her degree in International Hotel Management, graduating with 1st Class Honours and as Class Valedictorian.
Throughout the years, Amanda has amassed a collection of diverse hospitality experiences by having worked for global hotels and casinos such as Hilton Worldwide, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts and Resorts World Genting, followed by a number of independent bars and restaurants in Singapore and Malaysia.
Her love for cocktails and coffee saw her through to earn international recognition when she represented Malaysia at the Global World Class Bartender of the Year Competition in 2010, held in Athens, Greece. In 2013, she then represented Malaysia at the Caffe Vergnano Best Barista Competition Global Finals held in Milan, Italy.
For three years, she travelled extensively, by invitation as Guest Bartender or Speaker, to Moscow, Mumbai, New Delhi, Jakarta, Singapore, Pattaya, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. She has now taken up residency at The Envoy, as Bar Manager for the team. Working with local celebrated mixologist Antonio Lai, they have put together an imaginative and beautiful cocktail list for your pleasure.
Most recently, Amanda and resident Pastry Chef extraordinaire, Anne Cheung, appeared at the first Dilmah Real High-Tea Challenge in Hong Kong, returning with a Silver medal for The Envoy. Keep your eyes peeled for a truly charming high-tea with cocktail pairings to come!
